Steve Lukather in Moscow – for the first time! And, what a great compensation for the long wait, with Two Fantastic Shows at the Moscow International Performing Arts Center as a part of his Transition World Tour 2013. One of the main Russia’s music venues has been seriously rocked [see if the glass walls are still there:)]! Incredible energy, rocking set, groovy band, powerful vocals, huge guitar sound and terrific solos. Thank you, Steve!!!

BONZO BASH NAMM JAMM 2013
More than 5 hours of
Led Zeppelin classics,
30 of the worlds greatest drummers playing tribute to the great John Bonham of Led Zeppelin.
Bonzo tribute shows (The Groove Remains the Same, Bonzo’s Birthday Bash) were started by Brian Tichy (ex-WHITESNAKE, S.U.N.) to celebrate tribute to the great John Bonham of Led Zeppelin. This year the super party has expanded to hold an extra event on the NAMM show week in January. Thank you for this from all the fans from around the world who made it there!!!
Brian Tichy assembled an incredible power bill of drummers: Simon Phillips (Toto/ Jeff Beck), Nicko McBrain (Iron Maiden), Mike Portnoy (Adrenaline Mob, Dream Theater), Virgil Donati (Allan Holdsworth), Chris Frazier (Foreigner / Whitesnake), Steven Adler (Guns N’ Roses / Adler), Charlie Benante (Anthrax), Dave Lombardo (Slayer), Ray Luzier (Korn), Glen Sobel (Alice Cooper) just to name a few, as well as distinguished special guests: Derek Sherinian (Black Country Communion, Billy Idol), Doug Aldrich (Whitesnake / Burning Rain), Billy Sheehan (David Lee Roth / Mr. Big / Niacin), John ‘JD’ Deservio (Black Label Society), Frank Hannon (Tesla), Sass Jordan (S.U.N.).
Each drummer would play their favorite Led Zeppelin song with a house band The Moby Dicks and special guests – that means more than 5 hours of Led Zeppelin classics performed by the best of the best! Not surprising, the Observatory theater in Anaheim, CA was sold out.
The event was co-hosted by Nicko McBrain of Iron Maiden and the legendary Carmine Appice, later joined by Eddie Trunk of That Metal show.
Needless to say, NAMM week is well known for its highest concentration of all-star shows and events, however Bonzo Bash stood high above all the competition as an absolute must-see and far beyond anybody’s reach with its unique vibe and groove.
The best of luck to Bonzo Bash and how about its further - international – expansion?

Вот и пришло время Hi-Tech обзора. После более чем 10 лет работы с разного рода студийным оборудование высокие технологии - как ни странно, по-прежнему моя любимая тема. Кабели Monster Cable Studio Pro впервые попали ко мне в руки, а точнее в гитарный сетап, на выставке NAMM, где я играла. Тогда я не поверила своим ушам, потому что услышать, как преобразился звук после смены коммутации посреди выставочной какофонии было чудом уже само по себе. Когда же представители компании Monster Cable рассказали о технологиях, которые они используют, мне стало интересно провести небольшой эксперимент в студии.
LAG S1000SF – обзор
Я давно присматривалась к семиструнным гитарам – и так достаточно редким и специфическим, тем более в России. Но из того что было в шоу-румах почему-то ничего не подходило: то дерево = характер звука не тот, то fixed bridge вместо флойда, то ладов мало или просто гриф неудобный. Делать на заказ, до конца не определившись, тоже не хотелось.
И вдруг эффектный дизайн и спецификации инструмента совпали, как по мановению волшебной палочки: дека из красного дерева с кленовым верхом, удобный гриф (клен с накладкой из черного дерева), реверсивная голова, семь струн (10-46+60), 27 ладов (18-27 – скалопированные), Floyd Rose, два хамбакера с отсечкой.
Все что нужно, в нужной конфигурации оказалось у семиструнного LAG подписной серии “Stephan Forte” (Stephan Forte – гитарист французской prog-metal группы Adagio, известной высокой техничностью и виртуозностью исполнения).

After hearing this supergroup at NAMM I thought I knew what to expect, but this show was beyond killer. If you get a chance to catch them on tour – do it!

PORTNOY / SHEEHAN / MACALPINE / SHERINIAN Tour kicks off In Europe!
The virtuoso band will play an all-instrumental set consisting of material from each of their solo records and their previous collaborations as well as classic instrumental covers and extended solo spots. Mike Portnoy formed the lineup to perfom at two drum events at the NAMM show last January. Due to overwhelming response that band has decided to take their show on tour.
